Open An eBay Account

eBay is a complex machine that is changing all the time. There are a lot of rules and regulations. It takes time to become familiar with all these, and if you sell regularly it is almost like a tax accountant, you have to keep ontop of the rules. Now is a great time to open an eBay account (open a personal account you can switch over to a business later) and start to sell things around your house. This is a great time to causally get familar with how eBay works without risking your business. Do not worry about the perfect business name that will come later, and you can change your name in eBay.

Setting up an account is pretty straight forward. At this time you will also have to set up your paypal account. Again lets just get started and get you familar with how the system works, because when your business takes off, you are not going to want to worry about the machine you are going to want to focus on selling, selling, and selling (Driving you business).

Do not worry about opening a store, open the most basic account you can in both eBay and paypal, you can always upgrade but it is hard to downgrade. You can also visit eBays community. Here is a great place to see eBays rules and the learning center.

What to sell? I would pick things that are easy to ship. Do not start out selling large heavy things. Start with small things that are easy to ship. Do you have old DVDs, CD's, Jewelry, Books? These are great things to put up on auction. There is so much to learn, lets just play right now. Find something, take a picture and get it up on eBay.

This is exactly what I did. About 6 months before Gods411 was created I had no one telling me what to do, I opened an account and just started to pick things around the house, take a picture, and list them on eBay. I had a big lesson learned, I am so glad that I made the mistake when I was not selling a lot of stuff as I got locked out of my eBay account. I had to call them and fax over my personal information. It was a real pain and I am glad that I made the mistake when I was getting started.

What I did (And I did not know better) I listed an item as a bidding auction and I thought I would be cleaver to bid on my own items to push the sale up. I think it was called shill bidding, but I got in big trouble very quickly. So again let get your account open and get you learning eBay.

If you already have an eBay account you are ahead of the game. Keep selling what you are selling we will get into your niche (What to sell) next post.

What Price Are You Willing To Pay?

When I first started Gods411 I did not have any idea how to start an Internet business. So I did a google search and started to look for companies that could coach you on starting an internet business. After much searching I found and company that I felt could help me get started, but they did charge a lot of money for the coaching. I wish I would have looked for blogs as this one, as I am going to share the same information on the coaching I received (And paid for) plus the mistakes that I have made over the years, that maybe it might help others.

When I first started the phone coaching, my coach asked me "What price are you willing to pay to make this successful?" He was not talking about up front money, but time. You see you can pay a lot of money for google ads, Facebook, and other internet advertising, but all you really need is time and patience. It reminds me of a snowball rolling downhill, as it rolls it gets larger and larger.

Here is what I suggest that you do before you get started, and you need to write them down so when it gets tough or you get tired you can pull these goals out and read them and refer back to them. It will help keep you going.

First, write down where you would like to see yourself in 1 Year, 5 years, and 10 years. What does your business like? How many people do you have working for you? Are you in your home or are you in a office? How big do you want to get? Do you always want it to be you or do you want to build an empire? Do you see where I am going with this? Do not take this lightly, really think about it, plan it. I will help you in the future.

Second, how much time are you willing put into making this work? Are you willing to go all out and put in as much time no matter what it takes to make this work. Maybe you are willing to put in 5 hours a day, maybe you only want to work a couple of days? Again this will really help in the future, When you get tired or start to doubt yourself you can pull these goals out and re-visit them. I can tell you that most people think running an internet business is easy and does not require much time, this is not true. As with anything in life that is successful it will take time and energy. So get started and get those goals written down and file them in a file for the future. BTW, I said I will do anything to make this work.

If you have any questions you can post the on our Facebook Page or you can e-mail them to us at Gods411@coastaccess.com We would love you answer all questions.

Gods411 Who Are We?

Greetings,
My name is Kim and I own Gods411. I have been selling on eBay since 2005. During this time I have done a lot of growing through trial and errors. I have also had a lot of people ask me how to sell on eBay. So, instead of answering all these individual questions I thought that I would start a blog and give the tips of the trade that I have learned over the years.
First let’s start with our bio, who am I and why should I take advice from you? I started with nothing, just a computer and a desk. Today, I own Gods411 eBay Gods411 Jewelry and Gods411 Web Site. Please check these sites as they should speak for our success. This is my job, it is all I do and we are growing by leaps and bounds every day. Praise GOD!
I started eBay because my husband was diagnosed with a auto-immune disease. He lost his job and was disabled. Our life was turned upside down. Even though this was a terrible time in life, God did some amazing things. eBay has allowed me to spend more time with my family and my husband who needed my help doing everyday things.
I also conduct one-on-one phone coaching. This is where you have me for one hour and I can answer all the questions that you have. If you are interested please contact us at Gods411@coastaccess.com.
So stay tuned and mark this blog if you are interested in being your own boss, making eBay your full time job, spending more time with family and friends, or you just want some extra spending cash.
